Acworth Burglary Suspect Arrested

Bartow authorities arrested 20-year-old Jason Tyler Smith in connection with a residence burglary in Acworth.

An Acworth man has been charged in connection with the burglary of an Acworth residence.

Jason Tyler Smith, 20, of 5305 Staton Place in Acworth, has been charged with Party to the Crime of Burglary, according to Clark Millsap. Investigators say Smith and an accomplice broke into a residence on Pickeys Hollow in Red Top Mountain Estates on July 27 and took several weapons from the house.

Smith had been incarcerated in the Cobb County Jail on unrelated charges after the burglary and has now been transferred to Bartow County. He is being held at the Bartow County Jail pending a $10,000 bond.

Authorities are not releasing the name of the accomplice at this time, but that person is also being held at the Cobb County Jail on unrelated charges and will be transferred to Bartow County once those charges are settled.
