Acworth Bust Yields Guns, Drugs

Two women and one man face a number of charges.

Two assault rifles, two pistols, methamphetamines, prescription pills and marijuana were found during a bust at an Acworth apartment complex, officials say.

Following complaints of suspected drug activity, members of the Acworth Police Department Special Operations Unit and the Cobb County Police Department SWAT team executed two search warrants at the Pinehurst Apartment complex on Monday, according to the Acworth Police Department's Facebook page.

Three people, all who had active warrants for probation violations from previous charges of dangerous drugs and affray, were arrested.

Tiffany Anne Dupree of Kennesaw and Courtney Lynn Holmes of Acworth were arrested without incident. The third person, Thomas Blake Kilby of Acworth, was arrested after a brief standoff with law enforcement officials who had to throw several canisters of gas into the apartment.

Dupree has been charged with felony purchase, possession, manufacture, distribution or sale of marijuana; felony possession of a schedule III, IV or V controlled substance with the intent to distribute; felony possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute; and four felony counts of receipt, possession or transfer of firearm by a convicted felon or felony first offender. She was in the Cobb County Jail Wednesday without bond.

Holmes, charged with felony possession of methamphetamine, was being held Wednesday in lieu of $5,720 bond.

Kilby, who was charged with felony purchase, possession, manufacture, distribution or sale of marijuana; felony possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute; felony manufacture, deliver, distribute, administer, sell, possession with the intent to distribute synthetic cannabinoid/synthetic marijuana; and four felony counts of receipt, possession or transfer of firearm by a convicted felon or felony first offender, was in custody without bond.
