Acworth Man 1 of 3 Injured in Marietta Crash

Marietta Police are investigating the crash that left the three hospitalized, one in critical condition and the other two in stable condition.

An Acworth man was one of three people injured in a serious crash in the southbound lanes of Marietta's North Fairground Street.

The Marietta Police Department is investigating the Wednesday incident, which happened at 4 p.m. and involved a Cobb County Schools maintenance vehicle driven by Danny Roark, 53, of Acworth.

The initial on-scene investigation revealed that a 1996 Honda Civic, driven by Jose Guadalupe Zamora, 18, of Marietta, was traveling northbound on Fairground Street, according to a press release from Officer David Auld.

The Honda crossed over the double yellow line and into the path of a 2003 Chevrolet Avalanche, driven by Acie James Farrey, 31, of Morrow.

The Chevrolet struck the Honda, causing the Honda to spin into the path of Cobb Schools' 2012 Ford E350 cutaway van, which was occupied by the Roark, the driver, and a passenger, Joe Carver, 52, of Dallas, according to the release.

The Ford struck the Honda before the Honda came to stop. The Honda was crushed against a fence, according to The Marietta Daily Journal.

Zamora, Roark and Carver were transported to Kennestone Hospital. Zamora is listed in critical condition, while Roark and Carver are listed in stable condition, according to the release.
