Acworth Man Arrested and Accused of Armed Robbery
The man approached a Kroger employee with a knife and took an undisclosed amount of money.
An Acworth man suspected of robbing a Powder Springs Kroger store Friday afternoon, was apprehended less than an hour later at an ice cream shop in the same shopping center.
The man approached a Kroger employee with a knife and took an undisclosed amount of money, said Cobb Police spokesman Officer Mike Bowman. The robbery was called in to Cobb 911 at 1:41 p.m., Bowman said.
"He was seen running from the store and was apprehended at the Baskin-Robbins in the same shopping center at 2:29 p.m.," Bowman said.

A man approached the self-check-out, demanding money and threatening the employee with a knife, said Kroger spokesman Glynn Jenkins.
"The associate cooperated and handed the man an unknown amount of money," Jenkins said.

"I'm happy to be able to say that there were no injuries to any customers or associates."
Jeremy Terrell Dawkins, 26, of Acworth, is being held at the Cobb County Adult Detention Center charged with armed robbery and aggravated Assault.
Jenkins said company security officers and police were reviewing surveillance tapes seeking more information about the robber, who is believed to have operated alone.
The store, located at the intersection of Macland and New Macland roads, anchors a shopping center that includes several restaurants, a dental office and other businesses, including the Baskin-Robins ice cream store.
