Acworth PD Hosting Drug Take-Back Day

Campaign takes place Saturday at Target.

The Acworth Police Department will partner with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) in an initiative to prevent prescription pill abuse and theft.  

Acworth Police and the DEA will collect potentially dangerous expired, unused and unwanted prescription drugs to destroy on Saturday, Oct. 26, at Target, 3378 Cobb Parkway NW.  

The campaign will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the entrance on the grocery side. The service is free and anonymous, and no questions will be asked.

The Acworth Police Department also collects expired or unused prescription drugs year round in a permanent collection box at the police department.  

Items not accepted include needles/sharps, syringes, thermometers, IV bags, bloody or infectious waste, personal care products, empty containers, inhalers and medical equipment.
