Acworth Police to Host Groundbreaking for New Station
New police department expected to open summer 2014.
The Acworth Police Department will break ground on the site of its future facility on Monday, Oct. 14, at 5:30 p.m.
The new police station is located next to the existing station at 4400 Acworth Industrial Drive. The project is funded by SPLOST dollars and is expected to take eight months to complete.
The architectural firm Croft and Associates designed the 23,000-square -oot police station while Hodges and Hicks General Contractors will construct the building. The existing building has been used since 1995 and is about 5,000 square feet. An official grand opening ceremony will be held in the summer.
