Acworth Woman Accused in Connection with String of Burglaries

A Marietta man and two unidentified juveniles allegedly broke into two apartments at Laurel Hills Preserve and one unit at Crestmont, and a local woman allegedly bought the stolen goods.

A teen who identifies himself on social media as a Marietta High School student was arrested Friday in connection with several burglaries at the Laurel Hills Preserve and Crestmont apartment communities.

Ignacio Visoso is in the Cobb County Adult Detention Center in lieu of $40,000 bond on charges that include three counts of burglary.

Between May 27 and May 31, Visoso and two unidentified juveniles allegedly broke into two apartments at Laurel Hills Preserve and one unit at Crestmont, according to a Cobb County criminal warrant.

In two of the burglaries, Visoso and the two juveniles allegedly gained entry into the apartments by kicking in the front door, according to the warrant.

Once inside, they allegedly took a Wii game console, a Waltham watch, a Bovela watch, an HP laptop computer, a Sony FLIP Ultra camcorder and a Timex watch valued at more than $3,000, records show.

After that May 27 burglary, Visoso and the two juveniles went to another unit on May 28, and allegedly stole a Microsoft XBox 360 game system, a Sony Playstation 3, a Sony Playstation 2, game cartridges, a Pandora designer bracelet with charms, two Adidas jackets and three pair of designer jeans valued at more than $1,500.

The final burglary allegedly occurred on May 31 at Crestmont. An Apple iPad was stolen.

Tabyes Rashard Moody and girlfriend Ashley Leann Strickland allegedly knew the items taken on May 27 and May 28 were stolen, and still bought them, according to additional warrants.

Moody and Strickland were arrested Saturday on charges that include two counts each of theft by receiving stolen property. When Marietta police arrested them, Moody allegedly had a semi-automatic handgun. Because of a September 2012 robbery conviction in Fulton County, he cannot have firearms, and was also charged with firearm possession by a convicted felon.

Moody, who lives in Laurel Hills Preserve, remains in the Cobb County Adult Detention Center without bond.

Strickland, who has an Acworth address, was released Sunday on a $15,000 bond.
