Cobb County will be offering tests for the open positions Jan. 10-13.

Was firefighter one of your dream jobs when you were a child? Here’s your chance to make your dream come true.

Cobb County Fire & Emergency Services will be offering written exams for entry-level firefighters Jan. 10-13, according to a county news release. The position has a starting annual salary of $38,355 and includes health and dental coverage, a retirement plan, life insurance, long-term disability insurance, deferred compensation, and holiday and sick leave.

Applications will be accepted through Dec. 23.

To apply, you must be 18 or older by the test dates and have a valid driver’s license. Photo IDs will be checked the day of the test.

Having college coursework in fire science and experience as a certified firefighter or certified medical provider is preferred.

To be considered for the test, complete this online application. You will then be emailed further test information, including an assigned date and time for testing.

Including passing the exam, candidates must pass a:

  • Background check
  • Physical abilities test
  • Polygraph and psychological exams
  • Medical exams
  • Drug screening
  • Oral interview

Officials will be at the tests to explain the hiring process and to answer questions.
