Cobb Manhunt Underway for Armed Robbery Suspect

Shot were fired and it is possible the suspect who fled the scene on Powers Ferry Road was injured.

The Cobb County Police Department’s Crimes Against Persons Unit is investigating an armed robbery, which occurred at 2145 Powers Ferry Road in Marietta shortly after 4 a.m. Sunday.

According to investigators, the black male entered the business of the Texaco and produced a handgun. The perpetrator demanded the employee to open the cash register and then took an undisclosed amount of cash from the business.

As he fled, he fired one round from his weapon into the ceiling of the business. No injuries were reported.

Police are not sure this crime is related to another armed robbery at 4:45 a.m. at a Shell station located at 2678 Windy Hill Road.

Cobb police are searching Sunday for an suspect who may be connected to a Saturday evening armed robbery on Powers Ferry Road.

According to Officer Mike Bowman, responding officers were on the scene of the robbery when they spotted the suspects drive by. One of the suspects fled on foot and was apprehended, but the other suspect sped off in the vehicle.

Shot were fired and it is possible the suspect who left the scene in the vehicle was injured.

Police reported that the vehicle was later found abandoned on I-75 near Northside Parkway.
