Cobb Seeks Applicants for Citizens Academy

Interested participants have until Feb. 25 to contact the Department of Public Safety Training Center.

The spring session of Cobb County's Citizens Public Safety Academy, which gives participants a glimpse of the inner workings of the emergency communications center as well as the fire and police departments, begins March 26, and the Department of Public Safety is looking for applicants.

The free, 14-week program is limited to 25 pre-screened applicants who are at least 21 years old. Classes are held at 6:30 p.m. every Tuesday at various locations throughout Cobb.

The first one will be held at the Cobb County Public Safety Training Center, 2109 Valor Dr., Marietta.

Interested participants have until Feb. 25 to contact the Department of Public Safety Training Center at 770-590-5650 or renee.cameron@cobbcounty.org.

Applicants not accepted for the spring session will be placed on a waiting list. In addition to a spring session, the academy holds one in the fall.
