Man Arrested Allegedly Looking for Lost Drugs

Deputies say the 41-year-old Acworth man was the intoxicated man they had tried to send home during an earlier incident.

An Acworth man allegedly told a neighbor he was going to "tear his (expletive) driveway up so he could find his drugs he threw away when the cops were talking to him earlier," according to a Bartow County Sheriff's Office report.

James Stanley Mills Jr., 41, of Homestead Drive, was allegedly standing in a stranger's driveway Saturday, yelling and cursing after 11 p.m., so intoxicated he didn't remember speaking with the same police officer some 30 minutes prior, a deputy wrote in the report. He allegedly told police he was looking for his wallet.

But the resident, who had called police about a man wearing no shirt in the driveway refusing to leave, had a different story.

He said Mills came to his front door on Homestead Drive in Acworth, saying he was going to find his drugs in the driveway and cursing in front at the resident's son, 12.

Although the resident declined to press criminal trespass charges against Mills, police arrested him "due to his level of intoxication and curing in front of a juvenile," the report says. Mills was charged with disorderly conduct.
