UPDATE: Motorcyclist Killed in Fatal Southwest Cherokee Wreck

The fatal accident occurred just before 4 p.m. Friday on Bells Ferry Road south of Highway 92.

UPDATE at 8:49 a.m. April 12: The Georgia State Patrol has identified the drivers involved in the fatal accident. The motorcycle operator who died in the crash has been identified as Carlisle Lucas Spencer, 30, of Kennesaw.

The driver of the Kia Sorento was Robert Emmett Flavin, 63, of Woodstock.

Charges are pending in an accident that took the life of a motorcyclist late Friday afternoon.

At around 3:55 p.m. April 11, Georgia State Patrol troopers were dispatched to the two-vehicle accident on Bells Ferry Road at Bells Ferry Place just south of Highway 92 in southwest Cherokee County. 

Preliminary reports indicate a motorcycle traveling southbound on Bells Ferry Road struck the right side of a Kia Sorento making a left turn onto Bells Ferry Place, said spokesperson Gordy Wright. 

The person on the motorcycle died while being transported to WellStar Kennestone Hospital in Marietta. Wright said the next of kin for the motorcyclist has not been notified at this time. 

The accident remains under investigation.
