North Cobb Students Charged with Criminal Trespass

There may be additional consequences for the students.

Two North Cobb High students face criminal trespass charges after they tried Monday to break into what they thought was a vacant home.

A worker at the home spotted the pair and alerted authorities of a "burglary in progress near North Cobb High," said Officer Mike Bowman, spokesman for the Cobb County Police Department.

The worker followed the girl and boy, who left the house and returned to North Cobb High. The school was put on a state of heightened alert for a brief period of time while police made sure everything was safe and clear, Cobb County School District spokesman Doug Goodwin said.

"Once they were located," Bowman said, "they were interviewed and charged with criminal trespass. Both juveniles were turned over to their parents and school authorities."

The students could face additional punishment for skipping school, Goodwin said.

According to the district's student code of conduct, consequences range from Saturday school and/or in-school suspension to five days out-of-school suspension and/or restitution.

When I was growing up (in an SBC church) I remember the ushers being told "If a <n-word>Read More tries to come in, lock the doors and we will cancel church". In today's church, just replace <n-word> with "Gay"...
