The Acworth teen who allegedly posted naked photos of at least eight children on pornographic websites created a company to gain the trust of the juveniles.
Cobb County Police Sgt. Dana Pierce said today that authorities believe Harrison High School senior Michael William Cook operated under the company name Maxi Focus Photography between Nov. 1, 2012, and Jan. 1, 2013, the time frame that he allegedly posted to pornographic websites "naked" or "erotic" photos of people that he obtained through fraudulent means.
"He was using Maxi Focus Photography as a ruse to befriend these people," Pierce said.
The Cobb County Police Department’s Crimes Against Children’s Unit wants to hear from anyone who may have corresponded with Maxi Focus Photography.
"We're going to continue to look for other victims that may be involved in this case," Pierce said.
Cook was arrested around 2 p.m. Wednesday at Harrison High, according to online jail records.
He remains in custody at the Cobb County jail without bond on various felony charges, including seven counts of cruelty to children in the first degree and one count of distribution of child pornography.
A man who answered the door at Cook's home in the 1200 block of Eldon Pointe said Friday that the family "won't have any comment."
Anyone who may have come into contact with Maxi Focus Photography is asked to call 770-801-3470.
