Report: Suspect Holds Up Unincorporated Acworth Gas Station

A suspect handed over a lottery ticket with a note demanding money at a gas station and left with $40.

The Bartow County Sheriff's Office is investigating a robbery at a gas station in which the suspect relayed his message using a lottery ticket.

At around 9:35 p.m. April 26, a deputy was dispatched to the Sunoco Gas Station at 6817 North Main Street in unincorporated Acworth. Once the deputy arrived onto the scene, the owner said a suspect entered the store and handed him a lottery ticket with a note beneath it that read "give me all the cash now."

The suspect allegedly placed his hand in his pocket as if he had a gun, according to an incident report from the agency.

The owner told the suspect he could not give him all the money "or he would be fired," so the suspect told the owner to give him $40 and all the items on the store counter.

The owner complied, and suspect fled the scene in a gray Chevrolet Lumina and was seen driving towards the direction of Cobb County.

The owner could not provide the deputy with a full description of the alleged robber, and after a search in the area, the deputy was unable to locate the suspect.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Bartow County Sheriff's Office at (770) 382-5050.
