Updated 7:19 p.m.

A Dallas woman has been arrested in connection with the robbery of an Acworth bank and subsequent high-speed chase, which forced authorities this afternoon to temporarily shut down Interstate 75 in both directions.

Police have identified the alleged robber of the Brookstone Village SunTrust branch as 39-year-old Ancely Faye Green. She allegedly claimed in a note that she had a bomb and demanded money, said Officer Mike Bowman with the Cobb County Police Department.

When she received an undisclosed amount of cash, she drove away from the bank in a black vehicle. Officers spotted her and tried to initiate a traffic stop.

Green, however, "refused to pull over and attempted to elude officers for several miles," Bowman said.

Green lost control of the vehicle and crashed on I-75 South near the Mount Paran Road exit ramp. That prompted authorities to shut down I-75 South, then the entire interstate.

Green, who faces a charge of armed robbery, was taken into custody without incident. She is being held at the Cobb County Adult Detention Center.

SunTrust spokesman Michael McCoy said the Acworth bank branch likely will reopen Tuesday.
