UPDATED 9:30 P.M.

A van crashed into the Historic Acworth Antiques Market at 4:50 p.m. Thursday, July 11, demolishing the entrance, sending bricks falling onto the van and disrupting traffic in the area.

Two people were in the van at the time of the accident, and the passenger was taken to a hospital with what were believed to be non-life threatening injuries, according to Capt. Mark Cheatham, spokesman for the Acworth police department. He did not have the names of the driver or passenger Thursday night.

Acworth police had not been reached yet about the accident at 4378 Northside Drive, Acworth.

Patch users were reporting that traffic was backed up, adding to an already busy evening with a rescheduled Fourth of July event.
