Acworth City Council Recognizes Residents, Police Officers

The public is invited to join Kennehoochee radio operators for their Annual American Radio Relay League 'Field Day' exercise to be held on June 28 – 29 at Dallas Landing Park.

At the June 19 Acworth City Council meeting, Alderman Tim Richardson presented the proclamation for Amateur Radio Appreciation Week to be recognized in the City of Acworth, June 23 – 29, 2014. Members of the Kennehoochee Amateur Radio Club were acknowledged for their volunteer services in providing emergency communications during hurricanes, floods, earthquakes, tornadoes, fires, and other catastrophes.

The public is invited to join Kennehoochee radio operators for their Annual American Radio Relay League ‘Field Day’ exercise to be held on June 28 – 29 at Dallas Landing Park.

Chief Wayne Dennard acknowledged Acworth Police Department personnel who were recently promoted due to changes in command staff to include: Stan Melton, Captain, David St. Onge, Criminal Investigations, Jonathan Sampson, Sergeant, Kyle Arnold, Corporal, Mike Taylor, Lieutenant, and Curtis Endicott, Supervisor of Patrol Division. Chief Dennard also introduced the newest member of the police department, IT Director Mike Sender, who was commended for his expertise and a job well done!
