One Contested Election in Acworth
Two of three aldermen seeking re-election are running unopposed Nov. 8 after qualifying closed Wednesday.
Qualifying for the Nov. 8 municipal election for Board of Aldermen Posts 1, 2 and 3 in the city of Acworth ended Wednesday at 4:30 p.m.
Beginning Monday morning, candidates went to and filed a notice of candidacy with the city clerk. Each candidate had to meet the qualifications of the Charter and Code of the City of Acworth, as well as all applicable state laws.
Candidates also paid a $396 qualifying fee.
