Acworth Leaders To Eye Budget, Garbage Fee Hike; Debt Refinance

Although the mayor and board of aldermen have cancelled a Monday work session, leaders are set to hold regular business meeting Thursday.

Acworth's Mayor and Board of Aldermen are set to meet Thursday at 6:30 p.m. for regular business, agenda items that include a proposed 2014 budget and the issuance of series 2013 bonds to refinance City Hall and its Sports Complex.

The Monday night work session, set for 6 p.m., has been cancelled due to no agenda items. The public is allowed to address Acworth leaders during Thursday's public comment session, but their talks limited to five minutes.

The proposed 2014 budget includes a 3 percent garbage fee hike, reports the Marietta Daily Journal
