Acworth's Russell Named Clerk of the Year
She has been Acworth's city clerk since October 2004.
The state of Georgia now knows what the city of Acworth figured out nearly a decade ago: Acworth city clerk Regina Russell is the best in the state.
The Georgia Municipal Clerks and Finance Officers Association this month gave its Clerk of the Year award to Russell.
The association made the announcement during its board meeting in Athens.

As clerk, Russell oversees city elections, municipal court services and the Liberty Hill Cemetery; supervises Acworth's deputy clerk, personnel administrator and human resources technician; and administers alcohol licenses, occupation tax certificates/business licenses and hotel/motel taxes.
She has been Acworth's clerk since October 2004.
