Alderman Announces Re-Election Bid
Post 3's Bob Weatherford is seeking his third term in office in Acworth.
Alderman Bob Weatherford announced his intentions to qualify and seek re-election for a third term as the Post 3 alderman on the during the council's .
The election will take place Nov. 8. Posts 1, 2 and 3 are on the ballot.
Weatherford is running against Acworth Zoning Board member , whose candidacy was announced Tuesday on Acworth Patch.

Weatherford has served 10 years on the council and on many community and statewide boards and authorities representing the city. He said his experience matters and positions him to serve Acworth residents for another term.

- Municipal Electric Authority of Georgia and Electric Cities of Georgia delegate.

Weatherford has been active in local charities as co-founder of the Shop with a Hero program and Joy Foundation. He was a reserve police officer and past captain of the before being injured in the line of duty in 2001.
Weatherford has a bachelor's degree in mathematics from Huntingdon College in Montgomery, AL, and spent most of his career in the high-tech field, including Amdahl and STK.
