Cobb Millage Rate Stays the Same

JoAnn Birrell was joined by Commissioner Bob Ott in opposition to the vote.

The two Cobb commissioners who voted against a property tax increase last year voted against maintaining the rate at 11.11 mills.

“I couldn’t justify voting to keep it the same if I didn’t vote to raise it last year,” Commissioner JoAnn Birrell said, according to the Marietta Daily Journal.

The Board of Commissioners voted 3-2 to keep Cobb County’s property taxes as is.
