Election Day Need-to-Know

Today is Super Tuesday, and here's what voters need to know before heading out to the polls.

Election day is here, and Patch wants to prepare you with all the voting information before you head out to the polls.

Polls open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. today. If you are not sure which precinct you are in, check out My Voter Page on the Cobb County Board of Elections and Registration website.

In addition to the presidential primary, voters in unincorporated Cobb County will also find a Sunday sales referendum on the ballot. City of Acworth residents

Below is a list of voting precincts in Acworth:

  • Acworth 1A: NorthStar Church, 3413 Blue Springs Rd.; The poll is located in the Compass Room.
  • Acworth 1B: , Beach Street; The poll is located in the Main Room.
  • Acworth 1C: , 4220 Cantrell Rd.; The poll is located in the Media Center.
  • Baker 01: , 4310 Moon Station Lane; The poll is located in classrooms C102 and C103 or the lobby.
  • Durham 01: , 2891 Mars Hill Rd.; The poll is located in the Theater, Cafeteria, Main Gym (809) or Carpeted Gym (807).
  • Ford 01: , 1345 Mars Hill Rd.; The poll is located in the Gym or Media Center.

During early voting in Cobb County, 11,205 people voted in the Republican primary, 883 voted in the Democratic primary and 91 cast nonpartisan votes. For absentee votes, as of Friday, 2,886 people had cast Republican ballots, 253 had cast Democratic ballots and 18 had cast nonpartisan ballots.

That makes the total number of early voters 15,336 as of Friday, March 2.

On election day in presidential primaries, there is usually a voter turnout in the low 30 percent range, said Janine Eveler, director of Cobb County Elections.
