Last Chance: Drug Take Back

April 28 is national Drug Take Back day, and the will be taking prescription pills for disposal to help prevent increased prescription drug abuse and theft. 

Bring any potentially dangerous, expired, unused and unwanted prescription drugs you have to the  at 4400 Acworth Industrial Dr. from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on Saturday, April 28.

The service is free and anonymous—no questions will be asked.

This national initiative by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) addresses a vital public safety and health issue. Most people are not aware that medicines that remain in home cabinets are highly susceptible to diversion, misuse and abuse. In addition, many Americans do not know how to properly dispose of their unused medicine—often flushing them down the toilet or throwing them away, which causes potential safety and health hazards.

Things that will not be accepted at the Drug Take Back include needles, sharps, syringes, thermometers, IV bags, bloody or infectious waste, personal care products, empty containers, inhalers, and/or medical equipment.
