Acworth Residents Appointed to State Boards

Maxine McCullar and Earl E. Smith of Acworth are among the new members Gov. Nathan Deal appointed to state boards.

Two Acworth residents have been appointed to state boards this month by Gov. Nathan Deal, according to the Governor's official website.

Maxine McCullar, who's the chief operating officer at Reliable Health Care and a member of the Georgia Nursing Home Association, has been reappointed to the State Board of Nursing Home Administrators. McCullar holds a bachelor's degree from Troy State University and a master's degree from the University of Alabama.

Another Acworth resident, Earl E. Smith, was appointed to the State Workforce Investment Board. Smith is the former Cobb County Commission chairman and the current chairman of the Cobb Galleria Exhibit Hall Authority. He is an Air Force veteran and a small business owner who has been in the heating and air conditioning industry for 50 years. Smith also serves on the Cobb-Marietta Water Authority and the Technical College System of Georgia board.
