The next time you head to a pawn shop in Cobb County, get ready to say "cheese."

County pawn shops are now required to upload a digital fingerprint and photograph of every customer to an online database, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

The mandate, which commissioners approved Tuesday, will allow police nationwide to search pawn shop transactions across multiple jurisdictions, according to the AJC.

Before Tuesday's vote, Cobb authorities had to go in person to review pawn shop transactions.
