Friday Football Preview: Allatoona Faces High-Powered Offense

Allatoona, Harrison and North Cobb Christian are all at home while North Cobb travels to Kennesaw Mountain.

Dalton (2-1) at Allatoona (3-0) – looks to defend its perfect record and the Associated Press No. 6 state ranking tonight as the Buccaneers host Dalton. The Catamounts have won their last two games by a combined score of 108-7 and bring a potent offense to Acworth. Allatoona has only allowed 14 points all season. Which unit will prevail, Dalton’s offense of Allatoona’s defense?

North Cobb (1-2) at Kennesaw Mountain (0-3) – stuck around with a tough Lassiter team last week until late in the game, scoring 35 points in the process. Freshman quarterback Tyler Queen made big plays in the first half of last week’s game and needs to continues those tonight against the Mustangs.

lost a heartbreaker to Sprayberry last week, but in the loss scored four touchdowns. Scoring seems like it won’t be a problem in tonight’s first Region 4-AAAAA matchup for both teams.

Pebblebrook (0-3) at Harrison (1-2) – took down Milton last week for its first win of the season. But it still was a low scoring, 15-12, affair. Pebblebrook enters the game only averaging 11 points per game. The Hawks have a chance, tonight, to even their record even if their scoring output doesn’t increase. But it would preferable if Harrison could cross the goal line on multiple occasions.

Cross Keys (0-3) at North Cobb Christian (1-2, 1-0) – After winning its first game of the season, has posted two losses where it has scored just a combined nine points. Cross Keys comes to town having scored just 14 points combined over its last two games. If the Eagles can clean up their play – they had three touchdowns last week called back because of penalties – scoring may come easier.
