Harrison Hosts Tough Playoff Match

Here's what's happening in high school athletics in Acworth Patch on May 3.

Two top-20 lacrosse teams will face off in the first round of the state playoffs on Tuesday.

The 19th-ranked Kennesaw Mountain Lady Mustangs have won two of their last four matches and will travel to , the 14th-ranked team in the state. Harrison has won five of its last six matches.

The two teams have played once this season, with Harrison winning, 14-3.

Monday’s Scoreboard

Girls Playoff Golf: Sydney Conrad, from Harrison, shot a 1-over 73 at the 5A state championships to win the individual title.

Girls Playoff Golf: Harrison shot a combined 168 to finish fourth as a team at the 5A state championships.

Boys Playoff Golf: Michael Garretson, of Harrison, shot a 72 at the 5A state championships to finish fourth in the individual event.

Boys Playoff Golf: Chris Kupcewicz, of Harrison, shot a 75 at the 5A state championships to finish tied for 12th place in the individual event.

Boys Playoff Golf: Austin Chumley, of Harrison, shot a 76 at the 5A state championships to finish tied for 18th place in the individual event.

Boys Playoff Golf: Alex Grossman, of Harrison, shot a 77 at the 5A state championships to finish tied for 25th place in the individual event.

Boys Playoff Golf: Harrison shot a combined 300 to finish in third place at the 5A state championships.
