High School Hoops Preview: Tuesday

Here is what to watch for at the Acworth Patch on Tuesday:

Teams: vs. Campbell

When: 6 p.m. girls; 7:30 p.m boys

Where: Campbell High School

Girls Preview: The Region 4-AAAAA regular season championship hangs in the balance and Tuesday’s game between North Cobb (20-3, 10-2) and Campbell (18-5, 10-2) will go a long way in determining the eventual champion. North Cobb is ranked fourth in the state, while Campbell is ranked fifth, and both teams are tied with 10 wins with one more regional game after Tuesday -- the winner controls its own destiny. North Cobb has won 11 of its last 12 games, including a 64-62 win over Campbell on Feb. 2. Campbell has also won 11 of its last 12 games, its sole loss over that span was to North Cobb. Expect a classic 4-AAAAA battle on Tuesday.

Boys Preview: While the North Cobb (13-10, 7-5) game at Campbell (17-6, 8-4) doesn’t have first-place implications, it’s very important to seeding the regional tournament which starts next week. Campbell is tied for second place in the 4-AAAAA region while North Cobb is in fourth. If the Warriors pull off the upset over Campbell there could be a lot of movement in the standings this week. North Cobb has lost its last two games, including a 47-45 loss on Feb 2. to Campbell. The Spartans have won three of their last four and still have a shot at a regional championship if things go right.
