Horizon League Participants Meet Pro Wakeboarders

A group of special needs children and community members received rock star treatment from professional wakeboard riders.

during the MasterCraft Pro Wakeboard Tour in Acworth this week. But on Thursday evening, a group of local fans was the focus of attention during a two-hour special event held at .

Riders took a break from the competition, and spent some time with special needs children and community members who are participants in the Acworth Horizon Baseball League.

They signed autographs, gave away T-shirts and other goodies, and took some kids and their parents on a wakeboarding boat ride.

It was the first time for the Horizon League participants to get an up-close look at this fast-paced and action-packed water sport. The children enjoyed the exciting boat ride alongside their parents while the riders took turns wakeboarding and on Lake Allatoona.

It certainly was not a typical day for the riders either. Many said that this was something they do not usually get to do during the Pro Wakeboard Tour, and meeting the Horizon League members has helped them put life in perspective.
