North Cobb Gets National Ranking

Last season, North Cobb fell just short of advancing to its first state title game in more than 50 years.

RivalsHigh100 today named North Cobb High School the 49th best high school football team in the nation.

"There are mixed reviews on North Cobb from those who cover the program," Rivals.com national columnist Dallas Jackson wrote. "Some say this group is a legitimate state challenger, while others believe this is a paper tiger that will be soft come playoff time."

Last season, North Cobb fell just short of advancing to its first state title game in more than 50 years. In a high-scoring Class AAAAAA contest, Lovejoy bested the Warriors 63-42.

According to the website, the RivalsHigh100 list "is compiled with the help of the Rivals.com network of high school site publishers, recruiting analysts and AMP team, as well as the input of coaches and other media partners around the country."

Other Georgia teams that made the list include Norcross at No. 5, Sandy Creek at No. 10, Gainesville at No. 25 and North Gwinnett at No. 28
