The road Warriors beat Centennial and come home with a 1-1 record to play Lassiter next Friday.

It didn’t take long for Centennial Knights fans to lose enthusiasm and ultimately be silenced as the rolled into Roswell and rolled out with a 21-17 win.

The game's shocking start was a hint at the home team's ultimate derailing: North Cobb’s stellar wide receiver Jalen Williams returned the opening kick for a touchdown. A stunned Centennial crowd saw North Cobb take a 7-0 lead 13 seconds into the game.

It appeared that Centennial would head into the locker room with a 10-7 lead, but Williams struck again for the Warriors. He caught a touchdown pass from quarterback Ty Griffin, and North Cobb went into the locker room up 14-10.

The Knights reclaimed the lead in the middle of the third quarter after a six-minute, 65-yard touchdown drive.

The 17-14 Centennial lead held up until the final three minutes of the game.

Centennial was approaching midfield with just under three minutes to play in the game and planned to go for it on fourth and one, but an illegal procedure penalty forced a punt.

North Cobb quickly drove down the field, and running back Quinten James powered his way for a 15-yard touchdown run and a 21-17 lead.
