Pro Wakeboard Tour Takes Over Lake Allatoona

The 2012 MasterCraft Pro Wakeboard Tour kicks off Friday in Acworth.

It's going to be a weekend packed with action and fun on the lake. Acworth will kick off the 2012 on Friday, and an estimated 8,000 spectators will flock to in the next two days to watch some of the world's best wakeboarders compete in the tour.

Friday's action on Lake Allatoona starts at 8 a.m. and runs till 6 p.m. It will feature qualifying rounds and is free to the public.

Saturday will be a ticketed event beginning at 10:30 a.m. Tickets are available at the gate: $13 (adult); $5 (ages 6-12); free (ages 5 and under); or $7 (adult) if purchased online. Click here for more information on pricing and tour schedule.

Following the final rounds of action on Saturday, fans can enjoy two exhibition events—the Double Up Contest and Big-Air Kicker Contest. Both events will feature top athletes performing exciting and innovative new tricks that are not typically attempted in a traditional contest setting.

In addition to all the action on the water, fans and residents can enjoy plenty of great food, athlete autograph signings, chances to win freebies, product sampling, and shopping at the most cutting-edge stores for water-sports equipment. At the Pro Tour’s entertainment stage, guests can also catch athlete interviews, color commentators and interactive live music.
