Weekend Pigskin Roundup: Bucs Still Unbeaten

Each Monday we'll take a look at what happened on the gridiron over the weekend in Acworth Patch.

Allatoona 10, Cartersville 0 - After three easy wins to start the season, the state's fifth-ranked have had to pull from all their resources to win their last two.

Friday was the night for running back Miles Jones to shine, according to a report from the Marietta Daily Journal. Jones rushed for 221 yards and a score to help keep Allatoona unbeaten.

North Cobb 43, Campbell 14 – scored within the first three minutes of the game, according to the Marietta Daily Journal, and also put up 15 points before Campbell seemed to have time to blink.

North Cobb has scored 40 or more points in each of its last two football games, both Region 4-AAAAA victories.

Towns County 33, North Cobb Christian 6 – Senior running back Corey Harris scored the team’s lone touchdown Friday, but the bright spot was that he returned healthy from a concussion that caused him to miss the three prior weeks of football.

did a better job this week of controlling penalties and hope that the addition of Harris, alongside freshman Reggie Pruitt will ignite the Eagles on offense.

Hillgrove 21, Harrison 14 – quarterback Clay Chastain was involved in both scores for the Hoyas and threw for 176 yards Friday, according to the Marietta Daily Journal.

Harrison held Hillgrove to just 21 points, the lowest scoring output for the Hawks this season.
