Weekend Pigskin Roundup: Late Kick Return Propels Harrison

Each week we'll take a look at what happened on the gridiron over the weekend in Acworth Patch.

Allatoona 42, Southeast Whitfield 7 – moved to 3-0 on the season on a 35-point pummeling of Southwest Whitfield Friday. Junior quarterback Jeremy Uzee threw for 232 yards a two scores while Miles Jones ran for 84 yards and two touchdowns, according to the Marietta Daily Journal.

Fellowship Christian 35, North Cobb Christian 0 – Penalties kept North Cobb Christian off the scoreboard Friday as three scoring plays were taken off the board because of yellow flags, according to the Marietta Daily Journal.

Lassiter 56, North Cobb 35 – Lassiter’s three unanswered touchdowns in the third quarter were the key Friday night as the Trojans defense constricted and stopped giving up big plays to North Cobb, according to the Marietta Daily Journal. Freshman quarterback Tyler Queen was held to just two completed passes in the second half after a huge first half.

Harrison 15, Milton 12 – Milton scored a touchdown after a 14-play, 80-yard drive with 6:55 left in the game to take the lead over Harrison Friday, according to the Marietta Daily Journal. Instead of hanging his head, Chatham Carter took the ensuing kickoff 90 yards for the go-ahead score and eventually giving the Hawks a 15-12 win.
