Video: Help The Golden Soldiers Win $25,000 for Special Needs Children

The Golden Soldiers, an Acworth-based non-profit organization, is a finalist in the Pepsi Refresh Project.

aimed at helping special-needs children and young adults, has been named a finalist in the Pepsi Refresh Project.

Pepsi will be giving away fifteen $25,000 grants to the winners. You can support The Golden Soldiers by voting for the group every day until the contest ends on Dec. 31. By winning the contest, the organization will be able to host the largest carnival ever to honor children with special needs.

, CEO and Founder of The Golden Soldiers, said it has been an amazing year for the organization.

“After receiving an endorsement from Mark Richt, head football coach of the University of Georgia Bulldogs and the addition of Miss United States 2010 Jessica Black to our Board of Directors, I really did not know what more could possibly happen to make 2011 more amazing," said Turner.

He said the news from Pepsi came in as a great surprise and the Golden Soldiers are very grateful for this opportunity.

The organization is 100 percent volunteer based and no one on the Board of Directors or staff receives any type of compensation.

"To know we have the opportunity to win $25,000 is incredible and something which can affect many children with special needs,” said Turner.
