Mayor, Aldermen to Eye Acworth Parks and Rec Work

City leaders are set to meet for a work session Monday night at 6 and regular business Thursday at 7 p.m.

Acworth's mayor and board of aldermen are set to meet for a work session Monday and regular business Thursday, both at City Hall.

The main topic on the agenda: Acworth Parks and Recreation, according to the agenda on the city's website.

During tonight's work session, set for 6:30 p.m., officials are expected to update the community on the city's facilities improvement plan, according to the agenda.

Thursday, leaders are expected to consider several agreements including a $13,000 contract to finish the lighting project on Field 7 of the Acworth Sports Complex and $225,877 deal to build a concession stand and restrooms at Newberry Park.

Aldermen also are set to consider employing a service to help the city collect delinquent property taxes.
