Colored eggs, the Easter bunny and church services will be abound in Cobb County this week as Easter arrives this Sunday. Below is a list of family-friendly activities to enjoy in the area from now thru Sunday.

Photos With the Easter Bunny

  • What: The Easter bunny will be in town taking photos with children and families alike
  • Where: Center Court, Town Center at Cobb mall, 400 Barrett Parkway, Kennesaw
  • When: From now until April 19
Holy Week Service
  • What: Kirkwood Presbyterian Church will kick off its Holy Week services starting Thursday, April 17. Those in attendance are asked to bring flowers to help with decoration.
  • Where: Kirkwood Presbyterian Church, 618 Acworth-Due West Road, west Cobb
  • When: April 17 at 6:30 p.m., featuring Maundy Thursday dinner and a Tenebrae Service in the Fellowship Hall; April 20 at 8:45 to 9:15 a.m., featuring silent prayer and meditation; April 20 at 10:30 a.m., featuring a traditional Easter service
Return To Me Good Friday Worship Service
  • What: East Cobb United Methodist Church choir is hosting a Good Friday concert. Charae Krueger, an artist-in-residence is KSU, will play a pre-concert on cello. Interested persons may call (770) 971-3643 for more information.

  • When: April 18 at 7 p.m.
Good Friday Tenebrae Choir Concert
  • What: Faith United Methodist Church is hosting a Good Friday Tenebrae concert. A nursery will be provided. Interested persons may call (770) 435-9722 for more information.
  • Where: Faith United Methodist Church, 4336 King Springs Road, Smyrna
  • When: April 18 at 7 p.m.
5th Annual Northeast Cobb Community Egg Drop
  • What: Piedmont Church is hosting its 5th annual community egg drop. Plumbing and C&S Paving will drop more than 90,000 Easter eggs and pieces of candy from a helicopter. Face painting, inflatable slides, bounce houses and other attractions will be available. Food and free Easter bunny photos will also be available. Admission is free. Unlimited rides cost $5 per person.
  • Where: Sprayberry High School, 2525 Sandy Plains Road, Marietta
  • When: April 19, with the egg hunt for children under three beginning at 11:30 a.m., the hunt for children 4-7 at 1:30 p.m. and the hunt for 8-10 year olds starting at 3:30 p.m.
Easter Church Service
  • What: Powers Ferry United Methodist Church will host a sunrise mass Easter Sunday at 7:30 a.m. and another service with handbells at 11 a.m. Interested persons may call (770) 973-5271 for more information.
  • Where: Powers Ferry United Methodist Church, 245 Powers Ferry Road, Marietta
  • When: April 20, at 7:30 a.m. and 11 a.m.
Easter Worship and Events
  • What: Faith United Methodist Church is hosting a worship service, pancake breakfast, Christian education services and an Easter egg hunt Easter Sunday. Child care is provided will not be provided for the early morning service. Interested persons may call (770) 435-9722 for more information.
  • Where: Faith United Methodist Church, 4336 King Springs Road, Smyrna
  • When: April 20. Early-morning mass at 7:30 a.m.; family pancake breakfast at 8 a.m.; Christian education services at 9:45 a.m.; children's Easter egg hunt at 10:30 a.m., and an additional worship service at 11 a.m.
