Marietta Police are investigating the crash that left the three hospitalized, one in critical condition and the other two in stable condition.
An Acworth man was one of three people injured in a serious crash in the southbound lanes of Marietta's North Fairground Street. The Marietta Police Department is investigating the Wednesday incident, which happened at 4 p.m. and involved a Cobb County Schools maintenance vehicle driven by Danny Roark, 53, of Acworth. The initial on-scene investigation revealed that a 1996 Honda Civic, driven by Jose Guadalupe Zamora, 18, of Marietta, was traveling northbound on Fairground Street, according to a press release from Officer David Auld. An Acworth man is accused of breaking into an apartment, and bringing two teenagers along as his accomplices. Just after midnight May 12, Sebastian Phillip Huggins, a 14-year-old girl and a 16-year-old boy knocked on the front door of one of the units at the Wingate Falls apartments, according to a Cobb County criminal warrant. Nobody answered, and the boy allegedly kicked the door, which caused the door frame to break and the door to open. While the girl remained outside as a lookout, Huggins and the boy went inside the apartment and confronted two residents, one of them 16 years old. A Northeast Cobb man has been arrested in connection with a brush fire behind an Acworth business. About 3:19 p.m. May 14, Cobb County Fire & Emergency Services responded to a brush fire behind Practix MFG LLC, 4000 Cantrell Road, that had been extinguished by employees. During the initial investigation, officials found "no identifiable accidental ignition in or around the fire origin," according to a Cobb County criminal warrant. An Acworth woman who said she had to hit her son to calm him down was arrested by Bartow County authorities Saturday. Bartow County Sheriff's Office deputies responding to a domestic violence call shortly before 10 p.m. arrested Heritage Way resident Mary Marlene Miller, 53. Her son first denied anyone had been arguing, but said Miller, his mother, had hit him after deputies questioned him about several red marks on his chest, shoulder and neck, according to the incident report, attached. An Acworth woman who stumbled around a store and fell a few times prompted employees to take her keys and call police. But 70-year-old Delma S. Littrell said she just wanted to go home. Bartow County Sheriff's Office authorities responded Friday about 2:15 p.m. to the New Hope Church Road Dollar General after employees called 911 to report Littrell's alleged behavior, according to the incident report, attached. Lawrence Peterson of Acworth became so angry with a woman for dancing at a club, he allegedly punched her, grabbed her hair, threw her down and dragged her through the Hometown Lodge parking lot. The alleged incident happened about 2 a.m. Sunday when the woman returned to the Baker Road extended stay hotel, and Peterson's 2-year-old daughter and 7-year-old stepdaughter witnessed it all unfold. It is not clear how Peterson and the woman are related. Because it is a domestic violence case, the Acworth Police Department would not release the report. An Acworth woman who worked at the Baker Road CVS Pharmacy has admitted to stealing thousands of prescription pills from her job and selling them. Trishanne Williamson was arrested late Tuesday on charges that include four counts of sale of methamphetamine, one count of possession of amphetamine and one count of theft by taking. Between Dec. 1, 2012, and May 11, 2013, Williamson told investigators with the Acworth Police Department she took 1,565 prescription pills from her job at 3513 Baker Road, Suite 500. A Dallas woman arrested in connection with an Acworth bank robbery and high-speed chase that forced authorities Monday afternoon to temporarily shut down Interstate 75 in both directions faces a new charge. Ancely Faye Green, 39, was arrested Monday on a charge of armed robbery, said Officer Mike Bowman with the Cobb County Police Department. According to a Cobb County criminal warrant, she now faces an additional charge of fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer for a felony offense.
