The mission of APRD isMore to provide the highest quality of recreational services and facilities to the citizens of Acworth. The department has a staff of 21, and offers various programs to accommodate the different needs of Acworth residents. Some of the highlighted programs include senior citizen luncheons, Camp Acworth, middle school Camp, sports camp, a pre-school program, and Horizon League – a program that provides athletic opportunities to children between the ages of 5 and 21 with mental and physical disabilities .

The Acworth Public Library is a branch of the Cobb County Public Library System. The library is located in downtownMore Acworth by the City Hall. It is a neighborhood style library and serves as a vital part of  Acworth and surrounding communities. In the early 1900s, the Carrie Dyer Women's Club sponsored the original Acworth Library. In 1963, the library officially became a part of  the Cobb County-Marietta Public Library System, and collections float around libraries in the system. Computers and Wi-Fi access are available for the public, as well as programs for children such as story time and classes during the school year.

The main responsibilities of the Acworth Municipal court are the handling of violations of the City Ordinance and theMore Uniform Traffic Rules put in place by the City of Acworth. The Court also has jurisdiction over certain misdemeanor violations including shoplifting under $300, underage possession of alcohol, and possession of marijuana that is less than one ounce. An online ticket payment system is available on its website, and payments are accepted from 8:30am to 4:30pm.
