Not only were there beautiful cars and bikes, military displays and drills were also presented in honor of the 10th anniversary of Sept. 11.
Bike and car enthusiasts gathered for a day of remembrance and celebrated their heritage through good ole' American Muscle. Acworth's community friendly Cauble Park was filled with the smells of BBQ and the sounds of serious cams and pipes rumbling the air. The North Cobb and Harrison ROTC programs joined together for a flag folding ceremony in remembrance of Sept. 11, 2001.

A memorial service was held at Allatoona High School in Acworth to remember those who died Sept. 11, 2001.
Allatoona High School held a memorial ceremony Friday to mark the 10th anniversary of Patriot Day and the 9/11 attacks. Parents and friends of the Allatoona family, as well as all fire and rescue, police officers, emergency medical personnel, and current and former military were invited to join the ceremony as the school remembers those who lost their lives on Sept. 11, 2001. Guest Speaker William Cominos is a former Chief of the Freeport Fire Department in Long Island, NY, and one of the first responders of the attacks in New York City.
Patch marks the 10th anniversary of 9/11 with 911 snapshots of people and places forever changed by that day.

The school's Navy JROTC will host a "somber ceremony" at the school's football field Sept. 9.
The Allatoona High School Navy Junior Reserve Office Training Corps (JROTC) is coordinating a memorial ceremony to mark the 10th anniversary of Patriot Day and the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks on our nation. Family, friends and community members are thrilled to have Marine Cpl. Todd Love back.
Marine Cpl. Todd Love knew there were people waiting for him at the McCollum Airport in Kennesaw and back home in Acworth, but he had no idea there were hundreds of them. A large crowd of people cheered and waved their flags as Marine Cpl. Todd Love’s plane landed at McCollum Airport in Kennesaw Saturday afternoon. Many burst into tears as they hugged their hero. Love is an Acworth native and a Recon Marine, who lost both legs and his left arm from an IED explosion in October 2010. Family, friends, local law enforcement and military support groups escorted Love through the downtown areas of Kennesaw and Acworth to Dallas Landing Park, where the homecoming ceremony was held. This was such an awesome memorial and tribute! There wasn't a dry eye in the stadium and the students sat so respectfully, listening intently, to every word. After the ceremony, there was another event in the AHS theatre with the 3 speakers and it was absolutely amazing.
