The latest inspections by Cobb Public Health include visits to Williamson Bros. Catering, Starbucks, Smoothie King, Marietta Pizza Company and China Chef.
Each item on an inspection form has a point value ranging from 1 to 9 points, with violations deducting points from a best possible score of 100. A sample inspection form is attached. Higher points are taken for items with higher risk to cause illness, while repeat violations take even more points. Letter grades assigned are A for totals of 100 to 90 points, B for 89 to 80, C for 79 to 70, and U for less than 70. Do you routinely check the scores of your favorite dining place?
When you eat out, do you worry about whether or not your food is being handled properly? Have you ever wanted to take a look at the kitchen to see for yourself if it was clean? Each week, Acworth Patch runs a list of local health inspection scores. Some of the scores are fairly recent, other local restaurants (and school cafeterias) have not been inspected in six months or more. How big a factor do these scores play in your dining decisions?
