Cobb Food Scores: Lowest Is a 75

The latest inspections by Cobb Public Health include visits to Williamson Bros. Catering, Starbucks, Smoothie King, Marietta Pizza Company and China Chef.

Each item on an inspection form has a point value ranging from 1 to 9 points, with violations deducting points from a best possible score of 100. A sample inspection form is attached. Higher points are taken for items with higher risk to cause illness, while repeat violations take even more points. Letter grades assigned are A for totals of 100 to 90 points, B for 89 to 80, C for 79 to 70, and U for less than 70. The 8th Annual Taste of Acworth will take place Saturday, Oct. 13 in downtown Acworth.

The 2012 Taste of Acworth, organized by the Acworth Business Association, will be held on Saturday, Oct. 13 on Main Street in Historic Downtown Acworth. The event runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and will showcase the diversity of products and services the local business community has to offer. Last year’s event attracted about 20,000 attendees, and this year, organizers are gearing up for an even more spectacular event with several new restaurants. Participating restaurants will go head to head and battle it out in the five “Best of” competition categories. Readers' Choice for St. Paddy's Celebration: Henry's Louisiana Grill

The restaurant and bar that provides live entertainment received the most votes on Acworth Patch.

Congratulations to Henry's Louisiana Grill, the winner of our second Readers' Choice contest for the best place to celebrate St. Patrick's Day. Henry's led our Patch Readers' Choice poll with 46 votes—61 percent of the 75 votes received this week. Located in Acworth's historic downtown district, Henry's Louisiana Grill brings the festive atmosphere and Cajun flavours of the bayou. Owner and chef Henry Chandler won the People's Platelist Contest presented by ABC News in 2010. The restaurant bar also hosts live entertainment.
