Find out where you can recycle Christmas trees this holiday season.
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Allatoona Lake is accepting Christmas trees for recycling at three locations this holiday season: Acworth, Woodstock and Canton. Galt’s Ferry Day Use Area, Victoria Day Use Area and Sweetwater Campground will be used as staging areas from today through Jan. 7 for tree dropoffs. The areas will be open daily from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. Visitors are asked to place trees in the flagged area at the beach parking lot at Galt’s Ferry and Victoria and at the overflow parking area at Sweetwater. Trees will be recycled and used in the Christmas Tree Recycling and Fish Habitat Improvement Program.
