Cobb County libraries have many exciting and family-friendly events planned around the county in February to celebrate African American History Month. All events are free and open to the public. Starting Sunday, May 1, the Acworth Branch Library will operate on a new schedule with cutbacks on hours.
Reduced operating hours for Cobb libraries were announced Wednesday, with cutbacks go into effect on May 1, including the Acworth, West Cobb and Kennesaw branches. The Acworth Public Library will no longer be open on Fridays as a result of the cutbacks. The new hours for the branch will be from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday-Wednesday, and from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday. The current hours for the library are from 10 a.m. to 7 a.m. Monday-Thursday, and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday. Changes also apply to the two Kennesaw branches. The new hours for the West Cobb Regional Library on Dennis Kemp Lane will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday-Wednesday, and from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday-Saturday.
