State Recognizes Acworth Baseball Volunteer

Dana Long, the scheduling director for the Acworth Baseball Association, has been named the 2012 Georgia Recreation and Parks Association State Volunteer of the Year. The Acworth Parks, Recreation and Community Resource Department nominated Long for the honor earlier this year. "Dana is a very special volunteer who may never truly understand the impact she has made while serving the families, coaches, and participants of the Acworth Baseball Association,” parks director James Albright said in a statement. “We always say that our department’s success is heavily dependent upon the quality of volunteers in our youth sports organizations.
