Acworth Residents Hike for a Cure
Scott and Sara Powell have raised $29,000 for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
Acworth residents Scott and Sara Powell started their journey with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Team In Training (TNT) by hiking through the Grand Canyon in 2007. They wanted to do something outdoors and the hike sounded like fun. TNT’s mission and its inspiration were an unexpected surprise. The people Scott and Sara met were such good people that went out of their way for a great cause. Together, Scott and Sara have completed nine events with Team in Training as participants or mentors. They got engaged on the 2008 TNT Rocky Mountain Hike in Colorado. Last year, Scott and Sara were members of the TNT Yosemite Hike in the western Sierra Nevada Mountains of California.
