Acworth Man Leads Troopers on Chase

Officials have identified the man involved in a police chase that began in Bartow County. He later died in a crash.

Georgia State Patrol officials identified the man believed to be involved in a police chase that began in Bartow County. They say Anthony Todd Cleveland, 24, of Acworth, later died at Kennestone Hospital. Public Information Officer Gordy Wright said troopers pursued Cleveland's motorcycle, but lost contact with the vehicle. Cobb County police officers had also made visual contact with the bike, but lost it. Cleveland was not being pursued by authorities when traveling at a high rate of speed, he crashed his 2006 Suzuki K6R on Baker Road near Kennesaw about 1:15 a.m. "He lost control in a curve and hit a tree," Wright said.
