The Great North Cobb Debaters
The Warriors recently brought home top honors.
North Cobb High's Ben Abaidoo competed Saturday in his first debate tournament. When the results were announced in the impromptu speaking category, the novice walked away with first place honors. Abaidoo was one of four North Cobb students who received top honors at the Trion High School debate tournament, which was held on Jan. 12. In the same category, teammate Victoria Wright finished third and Alex Mancuso fourth. Nick Nsar won first place in his first time attempting extemporaneous speaking, and qualified for the first year debater tournament as well as the state varsity tournament. He also finished fourth in the prose and poetry category. Wright won third place.
