Armed and Dangerous Suspect Wanted in Connection with Area Robberies

In Cobb, Winfield is accused of robbing two gas stations at gunpoint.

An Atlanta man considered armed and dangerous is wanted by the FBI for a series of armed robberies, including two in Cobb. Michael Jerome Winfield, 46, is accused of multiple armed robberies at metro Atlanta locations and most recently a bank robbery at a Wells Fargo in Tucker, according to the Marietta Daily Journal. In Cobb, Winfield is accused of robbing two gas stations at gunpoint. He reportedly stole several cartons of cigarettes and an undisclosed amount of cash in an armed robbery at the Walgreen’s off South Marietta Parkway around 12:30 a.m. on Feb. 8. Smyrna is charging Winfield in connection with a Feb. 9 armed robbery at a BP gas station off Cobb Parkway. Winfield is also wanted by the Alpharetta Police Department for a Feb. 11…

Acworth Man Charged With Robbing Cherokee Bank

Chase Lovell Gates is being held at the Cherokee County Adult Detention Center for allegedly robbing Cherokee Bank in Woodstock.

An Acworth man has been arrested for allegedly robbing a Woodstock bank. Chase Lovell Gates, 27, of Acworth has been charged with allegedly robbing Cherokee Bank in Woodstock. Cherokee Sheriff's Office Spokesman Lt. Jay Baker said Gates is being held at the Cherokee County Adult Detention Center with a $16,700 bond. The department received the call from Cherokee County dispatchers around 11:45 a.m. Tuesday at the bank, located at 159 Woodstock Square Avenue.  Employees at the bank told investigators that Gates entered the bank and allegedly demanded money, according to a press release from the Woodstock Police Department.  A teller at the bank gave the suspect an undisclosed amount of cash.  The suspect then allegedly fled the bank on foot…

Acworth Man Arrested and Accused of Armed Robbery

The man approached a Kroger employee with a knife and took an undisclosed amount of money.

An Acworth man suspected of robbing a Powder Springs Kroger store Friday afternoon, was apprehended less than an hour later at an ice cream shop in the same shopping center. The man approached a Kroger employee with a knife and took an undisclosed amount of money, said Cobb Police spokesman Officer Mike Bowman. The robbery was called in to Cobb 911 at 1:41 p.m., Bowman said. "He was seen running from the store and was apprehended at the Baskin-Robbins in the same shopping center at 2:29 p.m.," Bowman said.
